The Markesan Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for an open full-time night patrol officer position. We are looking for a community minded officer that is ready to put forward a community policing approach in the Grand Community of Markesan.
Whether you have recently completed your law enforcement training or you are a seasoned officer looking for a change, the Markesan Police Department might be just the place for you!

Position Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:
Perform police patrol duties, respond to calls for service, assist the public, enforce traffic laws, investigate traffic crashes, conduct investigations, enforce federal, state, and local laws, testify in court proceedings, prepare written reports and other documents as required.
Hourly wage range
$26.25 to $35.00 an hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
Ability to perform essential functions of this position
Ability to possess a firearm
Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
Clear and concise speech
Driver's license
Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
Good driving record
Good physical condition
Good verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
No domestic abuse convictions
No felony convictions
React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
U.S. citizen
Vision correctable to 20/20

Crossing Guards Needed!!!!!
The City of Markesan is in need of one regular and several substitute Crossing Guards for the 2025-2026 school year.
A regular guard will work from approximately 7:30am to 8:10am and 2:50pm to 3:20pm each day school is in session (except early release days). A substitute guard will fill scheduling gaps on an "on-call" basis when a regular guard is unavailable for a shift.
